Earlier this week, yours truly was on the scene for PEAK Conversations: The Radical Activism of Self-Care panel & discussion featuring offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, Jordan Mailata, climate change activist, Brianna Fruean, international dance sensation, Elvis Lopeti, and licensed mental health therapist, Vaelupe Ma’aele.
The event honoring AAPI Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month was presented by Amazon MGM Studios and PEAK Pasifika (Pasifika Entertainment Advancement Komiti), a wonderful organization dedicated to promoting and uplifting Pasifika entertainment. I have worked with co-founder Kristian “Krit” Fanene Schmidt and the PEAK team for a couple of years now… it’s amazing to see all of the dedication and commitment from each and every member. The gatherings are filled with so much love, support… and SOUL. Yes, you heard me right… I have heard some of the most beautiful harmonies and gospel tones coming from the Polynesian community.
The event space located at Anomaly LA, was such a spacious but cozy setting… the perfect environment for PEAK conversations and to share inspiring journeys to self-awareness & self-care.
