Crowns @ Creature Hosts Launch of Black Women In Entertainment!

Sending a HUGE congrats to Evan Seymour who celebrated the launch of BLACK WOMEN IN ENTERTAINMENT (BWIE) on July 25th at Crowns @ Creature Taproom Residency… the first black-owned taproom residency in LA — a curated space at Creature Comforts Brewery in DTLA.

I met Evan Seymour several years ago and it has been amazing to see her journey as a communications strategist, founder of ERS Public Relations and her newest venture… founder of BWIE.  She is the leader who brought over 500 black women together for a powerful movement supporting Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 Presidential campaign!  I’m so happy to witness and to be a part of this networking organization as it continues the work of helping black women across the entertainment industry.

From actors to authors, producers to publicists, and athletes to execs — BWIE is a home for connection, creativity, and collective power…. committed to uplifting our community through networking events, educational programming, and service — all in the name of strategy, sisterhood, and lasting legacy. -BWIE

Here’s a pic I snapped of Evan a few years ago with actress Marsai Martin.

It was a very special ladies night because I got a chance to hang out with my niece at the Crowns @ Creature “I F&K With Crowns”..  a Friday night Hip Hop + R&B event honoring Black women. Y’all it was such a nice vibe. I truly enjoyed watching beautiful people as they chowed down on “Grilled Cheeze LA” (you have to try the Gumbo Cheeze), played games and mixed & mingled… all with the PERFECT weather.  I think my niece and her friends played 20 rounds of Uno, LOL!  We also got a chance to sample tasty drinks provided by Crowns & Hops Brewing Co, a black-owned brewery based in Inglewood!
