Hello ALL! I’m so excited to share this photo recap of such a wonderful project… “BLACK GIRL JOY DAY” with Mayor Karen Bass! On August 10, 2025 a special group of beautiful middle and high school girls were treated to a day filled with empowerment, healing and community held at the Getty House… the official residence of the Mayor of Los Angeles!
Yours truly was on the scene to capture all the fun!
In partnership with Mayor Karen Bass and the Getty House… this pop up festival was presented by California Black Women’s Collective Empowerment Institute (CBWCEI) a non-profit organization who’s mission is to uplift black women and girls.
“This Black Girl Joy Day, we’re honoring every smile, every dance, every act of self-love, and every win—big or small—that lights us up. From sisterhood to solitude, from laughter to dreaming, our joy is unstoppable and unapologetic” – CBWCEI
